Were any of you driving down 29 today by Warrenton? Yellow FJ with RTT and snorkel going west bound, I was going east. I waved, not sure if the driver noticed.

Re: Virginia trail ride

Hey guys, I'm heading down to Ocracoke this weekend for the first camping trip this year with my girlfriend. I'm taking the FJ and towing my Manley trailer and CVT RTT and CVT 99" Awning combo to spend some time down there since I've been in south Georgia almost all year (well since April 9th anyway) been ordering a few pieces of new camping gear to to try out as well like a new Camp Partner propane stove and two new Pelican coolers a 20qt and a 45qt. Should be a nice setup. Would really like to take it down some trails with you guys too set up base camp and go bombing down some back woods trails in the FJ. Meet me down there if y'all want set up a tent for a night or two I've already got a reservation for a campsite Friday through Monday. Also putting a 99" CVT awning on the FJ for driving out on the beach and parking. Y'all should check it out! Let me know.

Going to wheel Flagpole knob on Sat 26th. Will probably convoy out from Williamsburg area at 9 or 10 a.m. (TBD) and could also meet people where the trail starts at switzer lake around noon.

Plan is to camp. I have a 4Runner friend camping Fri too so I think there will be a camp pretty much set up. We're going to camp Sat. Have the family so if it's crazy rainy or something I may just take the backside trail down and hotel it lol.

Re: Virginia trail ride

I might be down for this! I've been wanting to camp flagpole knob. If I got up there and couldn't setup my RTT by myself, I could get some help, right? (I tore the tendon that attaches my bicep to my elbow earlier this week.)

Re: Virginia trail ride

I wish I could go, but me and the family will be headed down to Crabtree falls to run Big levels and some unnamed trails Oct 10-11 and thats too close together for the wife and daughter.
If you can handle primitive camping there are some fantastic spots on the trail if the sites are open.

Of course!. Ill probably be working out the details once it is a day or two in advance...Need to see who all may be coming from NN or VB. There is a rest area on 64 just after Richmond we usually meet at (around MM 165)...that way you can simply figure out how long it may take you to get through the tunnel, ect and meet there to convoy the rest of the way....or Just meet at Switzer lake at the trail head around noonish. Might even be closer to one since its pretty far.

Re: Virginia trail ride

I might be down for this. My family will be vacationing at Massanutten already. It will probably depend on our schedule and if I can get my skids painted and installed before we go. Did you mean Skidmore Lake(Switzer Damn)? Sorry I've never been and was trying to find that on google maps.
