I spy an iPhone.....

For sound deadening material that is on par with Dynamat.....use B-Quiet.

B-Quiet sound deadening materials - Compare B-Quiet with Dynamat

Put the cross overs in the doors, they fit perfect.

They will get water damaged....no door is completely water tight.

Re: system install part 1

crossovers are fine in doors, just put them so that if vertical so any water that gets on them will run off or you can wrap it in plastic if you want...there are lots of other electronics that are in the door that are not covered and have no problems...

I wholeheartedly disagree, you never put electronics anywhere close to moisture unless they are waterproofed from the factory/manufacturer. Doors contain moisture and condensation and will without a doubt eat crossovers up over time. Putting plastic over the x-over will only trap more condensation and moisture. Besides in the FJ it makes little sense to put a x-over in the door, since the most common location for the tweeter is in the dash or a-pillar, running two sets of wires into the door would be silly.

Your suggestion should not be used IMHO....

There is space behind the gauges under the driver's side glove box and then space behind the passenger side glove box. Or under the seats (if no amps are installed there). Or in the center console like the OP did.

Re: system install part 1

If you look at my first suggestion, post 10...you will see that I said to put them up in the dash... but putting them in the door is not a problem if you do it correctly...I have my MECP certification and have been installing for 11 years.. your suggestion for under the seats in the FJ is a BAD place to put anything...where do you think that water from your shoes on a wet day is going to go............

Your location is fine..It just looked like they were not going to be in the console from your pic..it looked like they were behind it.. Also, make sure you secure your wires where it goes past the e-brake and shifter so they dont get cut or pinched by those moving parts..

i'm pretty sure they won't get pinched i tried to make sure they were out of the way but they could move in sometime i guess...i'll probably take the console off at a later time to make sure everything is still good
