Has anybody cut the rear lower control arms and inserted solid stock and then welded it back up? Unless the inside dia. of the oem tubes are an odd size it should be pretty easy to do.
$300 plus for stronger arms is more than I am willing to flush.
cmw7373 did just that on my old links, and it makes sense to add strength.
I think you could stitch weld and achieve the necessary rigidity, and I think he used a 1/2x1/2x3/16. Very stout.
Another "weak link" worth addressing and can be done on the cheap is reinforcing the lower link frame mounts. It wouldn't take much to reinforce, and it takes very little to deform.
Just weld some .250 thick angle iron on the bottom "point" down like this:
I contoured it to wrap up the ends a little. My 5000lb plus rig has come down again and again on them without so much as a twitch. However, I don't advise testing them by hitting your friends curb in an expensive neighborhood as they get pissed when you knock chunks from said curb
I like it I think I'll do the same to mine, great idea
