OFFICAL Moab October 7th-11th 2015

Thanks @Basil for putting this trip together and cleaning up too.

Thanks to @07TxTRD and @Jrtheman for letting me ride along in your trucks and pick up good pointers on some of the more difficult trails. I learned a TON from you two. And thanks for the help hooking up my CB just in time for TOTW!

Thanks @Heliguide and family for caravanning to Moab and putting up with me. Sorry you had to head back early.

Thanks to all not specifically mentioned that I talked to, wheeled with, etc. Some of you I only know by real name, not forum name. Everyone was great and I enjoyed the time in Moab immensely.

I will get my pics uploaded to Flickr and whatnot when I get home. I hit Arches NP and Bonneville Salt Flats today. Great Basin NP is tomorrow, then maybe Yosemite NP Wednesday. Slowly making my way back to Portland.

Re: OFFICAL Moab October 7th-11th 2015

All,

In my life I have always tried to be a stand up person. I would never want to hurt anything or anybody. I love the people in this forum so as it relates to anything that would do that here I feel awful. If because of my actions any of that happened then I am more than truly sorry. I honestly had no idea of the condition of the fire pit ans I spent from early morning till the afternoon of the last day doing what I could to coordinate the efforts of bringing a man down from being stranded on the trail. You all are good people and I hope my apology can be accepted. Thank you.

Id like to thank @Jrtheman for being a great trail leader and also for allowing my daughter and her friend to ride with you on friday. Being 6'4"and having some one in the seat behind me would have put my knees in my chest and would have made for a very long day for me on the trail. Having had to leave early, i cant speak to the fire pit issue, but I do know that Darryl is a super stand up guy and would never intentionally do anything that would have a negative impact on someone's experience.

Id also like to thank @Basil for setting this up as well as @FJPDX for tailgunning on our caravan down from Salt Lake

Thanks to all for an awesome experience

You guys are welcome in MY state anytime

Re: OFFICAL Moab October 7th-11th 2015

This was my first trip to Moab and it was AMAZING! (Thank you for putting this together Basil!)

I was able to hit the trails I wanted plus several other.

Top of the World has a spectacular view! Oh and hanging off the bumper dangling my feet was cool too. ;-)

Hell's Gate and Tip Over Challenge were a bit easier than I thought they were going to be (after watching many youtube videos) but they were GREAT nonetheless!!!!

My wife and I and Dave are already talking about next year.

It was good to see and catch-up with old friends and meet some new ones. Josh and Ashley are amazing and I wish them all the best on their trek. They are in the midst of a great adventure! Thank you Darrell for leading us through Fins and Things and Hell's Revenge. I was only able to do one night run with MoabJunky, thank you BTW, but hopefully we meet again and are able to do more wheeling.

The fire pit is awful, no one cleaned it up, still metal tube in it, it's still burning red hot right now and there is crap everywhere. I went to bed early, and it seemed to get a bit out of control. Good job cleaning it up before you left this morning guys.

I'll be cleaning it tomorrow morning.
It must have gotten "a bit out of control"!

We didn't make it over to the fire on Saturday evening, we did a night run then hit the hay, but I left my camp chair over there for someone else to use. Those metal tube you saw were what was left of my chair! Someone has NO respect for other peoples property!
