Re: Third Annual Alumni FJ Summit

A while ago some were thinking of kayaks at Clear Lake. With the new place near Last Dollar I want to ask what plans are.

I would like to put the kayak in somewhere on a part day trip. There are some lakes south of Telluride. It may be that the next time that I paddle will be on the Arkansas. I would like a memory.

Or what other mild drives are being thought of?

Thanks

Re: Third Annual Alumni FJ Summit

I plan to bring mine, I know Alta Lake is on the south side of Telluride. I am up for almost anything. I do want to drive Imogene and Black Bear. Still want to do some exploring around Lizzard Head Pass.

Clear Lake would be fun to if we aren't seeing some snow like last year.

Re: Third Annual Alumni FJ Summit

Copy. I will bring mine too. Ophir to Silverton and Clear Lake maybe. Or Alta Lakes would be kosher with me too.

Of course my dog will be with me. Yesterday at the dog park someone let slip her nickname there. They call her "The Diva". As she seems to prance and pose like a show dog.

I have a bunch of old lumber that is weathered to bring as firewood. (I will leave the thermite home). I will put a cargo bag in the hitch hauler full of it.

For the first time in my life I began to think about purchasing a kayak after taking a drive beside the San Miguel on CR 625.

There is no way that I could do whitewater stuff. But a leisurely time on a lake is great. Mine is a $200 plastic thing that is great.

There is also Woods Lake and Woods Lake campground. It is about 10 miles south of 145 on 57P road. That is one of the roads I want to explore. If you keep going south it eventually rejoins 145 in Rico.

I have an inflatable Kayak I can bring.

It is just south of the San Miguel sheriffís office. I think it is Illium Rd. But the map say 63L.

Re: Third Annual Alumni FJ Summit

Looking forward to seeing everyone. And just some conversation.

That camping area looks great, lots of green stuff, I think it"s called "grass". We don't have that where I live. On the drive there I will get to see the huge rock that landed in the road. So they built new road around it and made a tourist attraction of the thing.

Re: Third Annual Alumni FJ Summit

Yes sir, I saw it last June. Big Rock for sure.

I am planning on riding in Sedona, Wolfcreek, Telluride, Porcupine Ridge in Moab, Thunder Mountain near Bryce Canyon, Virgin River Rim Trail near Navajo Lake by Brian Head. Plan to Dark Hollow and then down to the Rainbow Rim trail on the north side of the Grand Canyou. My farewll Mountain Bike tour of 2019

Just ordered a new Trek Farley 9.6. Should be here by Saturday. Anxious beyond belief!!!!!!
