Anyone have issues with AEM cold air intake?

Hello,
Just purchased an AEM Cold Air Intake for my 08 FJ and first and foremost the fit of the heat shield was horrible. The angle was so bad it cut into my lower pipe from the contact. I had to widen to holes to give me some play in the positioning so it wouldn't touch. I called AEM and they were cool about it, but my question was that I was wondering if anyone ran into this same problem? They said that there were differences in engine position from Toyota, different from their test fit vehicle...I said all the more reason why they should build in more flexibility in their design. I have used AEM intakes before on my Jeeps, but I don't remember having any issues, any input would be appreciated.
Thanks
