Don't know about the transfer case but, the rear diff is insanely easy.
Pull out the side bolt first, then the lower. Make sure the oil is warm. Do yourself a favor and get one of those inexpensive pumps for the oil bottle.
I did my rear diff for the first time last week, the toughest part was getting the bolts off. Go get new washers for the plugs and no pump is necessarry. Remember to put the plug with the magnet (rear diff) back in the bottom (drain hole) of the diff rather than the fill hole. Super easy job, at 15k my rear diff fluid was not clean and had small metal shavings stuck to the magnet along with some magnetic sludge. Glad I did the change.
