Question Where in Utah county for windshield

Where should I go to get a windshield put in 2013 trail teams fj? I live in Utah county, should I try and take off the trim piece myself so it can be reused?

Re: Where in Utah county for windshield

I used Glasshopper up in Ogden for my 9 FJ windshields and they did me good. I see they have listings down in your area too. I lost my windshield about a month after getting my FJ brand new in August of '06 and no one had any in stock or knew when they would be getting any. I happened to ask my Service Manager at Tony Divino if they knew of where I could get one and they told me to call Glasshoppers and that I could have the one they were holding for them that was for a brand new FJ that lost it's windshield on the transporter. They do all of Tony Divinos work there and they've been great to me and have done a really good job. They were able to reuse the trim piece on mine a few times before replacing it, but most of the time it's just part of the package. I've got a chip/crack in the Tundra now and they will be the ones I'll call for that too. They must do a lot of them too as the first one took over 2 hours and the last one was just shy of 45 minutes.

They must be good if you drive down from Wyoming to have them replace yours.

Re: Where in Utah county for windshield

I went down there at first because the FJ was so new that no one seemed to be able to get windshields. There were several posts on here of that all over the country. I just kept going there because they did a good job and usually I could set up the windshield for the same day as getting the FJ serviced at Tony Divino so I could get everything done in one trip. I also have family in the area and would stop by to visit. Really though they were worth the trip and the few hours of my time to get the work done, and done right. I'm loyal if I find a place that does me good since I've had a few here local over the years that treated me like crap because they had the mind set that they were the only game in town and you either went to them or you didn't get work done. Wrong..........I'll drive somewhere else even if it is 180 miles away to get the work done before I go through you again. Good luck.

Glad I found this. I will look onto Glasshopper for sure! Need a new windshield. Ahhh the joy of having an FJ with the aerodynamics of a toaster.

They did me good. I haven't been in there for awhile now since I have the Tundra. I've had it 2 1/2 years now and I've got one tiny chip and a little bit bigger one that is splitting a little so I need to get it fixed before winter hits.

Re: Where in Utah county for windshield

Just got my windshield replaced by Glasshopper less than 10 minutes ago and it looks good! Liked that they had their free service of the installed coming to me. I never mentioned the snorkel to them (which was the right thing to do) because the guy who did the work decided to do it anyways though he wasn't too fond of the snorkel being in the way but he said he would never do one again with the snorkel installed. Haha. Lucky me! It came out to be just short of $400 with the new windshield, the new top cowl piece, and new clips. I could've asked for him to use the old cowl piece if it wasn't damaged in removal to shave off over $100 but then if it later flew off on the highway they wouldn't warranty it. Better safe than sorry!
