Good all terrain tires for stock FJ

Getting ready to get some new tires and wanted some all terrains. Any suggestions. Don't go off road a whole lot, would like biggest size I can fit without a lift, don't wanna break the bank, somewhat aggressive tread for when winter gets here

Yokohama Geolandar GO15, true all rounders and snow rated. They do very good off road aired down and also do reasonably well in mud but best of all they have the best on road manners and easy to balance with good ride and life.

The Yokohama Geolandar G015 tires are a solid choice depending on what you are looking for in your next tire. I ran them on my FJ Cruiser and even did the trails at the FJ Summit including Black Bear and Imogene without any trouble. I even pulled a 2 WD FJ up the last few miles on Imogene with ease.

I'll throw in another nod for the Geolandars. I'm just getting ready to replace a set after >30K miles and three years. They've been from CA to Alaska and back, over to the east coast and back and generally here and there. 30K is notionally modest for wear. I'm looking at replacement because snow traction is important and the latter half of life I can see I'm losing some siping, and besides that because I chopped a sidewall on a rocky trail this weekend so now have one nice new was-the-spare and three pretty worn down.

Most of the FJ mileage is on road, and the setup is TTUE suspension (because I got it for $500 new), Warrior rack with RTT on top, Pure FJ sliders and RCI aluminum skids. Not hardcore, just enough that we're comfortable heading off road when the fancy takes us without worrying too much. Flip side is plenty of highway miles in all seasons, from Sierra Nevada winters to Arizona summers.

For those use cases I've been very impressed by the Geolandars.

If its mostly road and not sharp rocks get the P rated version that will last longer and handle better, I have the TTUE shocks as well, love the ride.

Re: Good all terrain tires for stock FJ

you mentioned OEM, so BFG All Terrain KO2 was an OEM option on the TrailTeams editions, maybe others too depending on the dealers.

Was I leading this group? About 4 years ago?

I had Yokohama Super Digger V on a Nissan P/U years ago. Maybe the best tires that I ever owned. One did have to be replaced due to a defect early on. One of the reasons that I went with the Cooper Discoverer AT3 is that it has a nearly identical tread pattern. The Geolander was on the list, but I wanted a load range C.

KO2s were never an OEM option, but the earlier KOs were.

The first KO2s weren't available for sale until November 2014, long after the last TTUE had been shipped from the factory.
