  1. BMC question

    4x4 / Off-Road Tech
Here's before paint.......zero rub now even backing off of curbs at full lock
  2. BMC question

    4x4 / Off-Road Tech
Question for you guys who have done this job. It seems to me the part of the bm being rubbed by the tire on my truck is only the very front edge, not that big protruding end. All the videos I've watched show people lopping off a lot of needless material. Id like to avoid welding in the plate if...

  4. Spare Wheel Compatibility Issue Please

    Wheels and Tires
Good point, my Discount hooks me up and will rotate the 5th tire in even if they have to break it down off the spare wheel and remount/balance them. Great guys!
  5. Wrangler Adventure VS K02?

    Wheels and Tires
The falken wildpeak at3w seem to rate really highly in winter condions. They do make an e load rated 265 as well. Might want to check them out as well.
  6. Thinking about getting Milestar Patagonia mt 285/70/17

    Wheels and Tires
Only hangup is they are 60 pounds per tire. Will that make my FJ work it's butt off to go down the road? I've read lots of threads but getting a definitive answer would be greatly appreciated!
  7. Spare Wheel Compatibility Issue Please

    Wheels and Tires
Factory caliper.....I would be glad to get a 5th matching wheel but I haven't been able to find these pro comp wheels anywhere online to order. I bought an unused spare from a guy with a 2017 4runner trd off-road. Fits front and rear perfectly.
  8. Spare Wheel Compatibility Issue Please

    Wheels and Tires
Great place to change tires out lol
  9. Spare Wheel Compatibility Issue Please

    Wheels and Tires
Hey everyone, was out on the trail today and had a flat, low and behold the spare that the p/o had mounted on my FJ did not fit on the front. The front caliper hit pushed on it. It's a 17" wheel with proper bolt pattern but I'm assuming the backspacing is wrong? I don't know anything about this...

I see what you did there đŸ˜‚
  16. noob question: should I get a tree saver to use front recovery points

    4x4 / Off-Road Tech
Guys keep saying they are just transport attachment points but then say they've used them as recovery points successfully. It seems as if nobody has damaged their frame using them to get pulled out, then they are in fact recovery points. Why would Toyota build the FJ as a purpose built off-road...
  17. noob question: should I get a tree saver to use front recovery points

    4x4 / Off-Road Tech
Got a pair of 5/8" shackles and will use a 20' tow strap to create a bridle to split the load. I don't really like how the radiator supports drop down, definitely not as strong as straight to the main frame. But having read accounts of people using the stock rings upfront with no issues I am...
  18. noob question: should I get a tree saver to use front recovery points

    4x4 / Off-Road Tech
Nice! That plate edge is what's hitting the bigger shackle I currently have so I'll order the 5/8" set. Thank you!
  19. noob question: should I get a tree saver to use front recovery points

    4x4 / Off-Road Tech
It would be vehicle to vehicle recovery with no winch, so snatching. I'm thinking a single synthetic shackle is the way to go based on what you said about the y setup.
