History
Fell in love with FJ's after my wife had a 2007 Voodoo blue that first got us into real wheeling with a local Jeep group. She eventually traded that in at just under 200k miles, but we always wanted another one. Stumbled across a Certified 2012 with 22k on the clock at a dealer in Pensacola, FL that was trying to get rid of it in a hurry. Traded in my 2015 Tacoma straight across and never looked back. I got much more into wheeling when we moved cross country to central California just south of Fresno. Budget was still limited, so all I had money for was to replace the stock tires with 285's, which required a "leveling kit" (yea yea, I know, but I was poor). It did the job though, took it to various trails in the Sequoia National Forest, Shuteye Peak, Bald Mountain, Sherman Peak (that was an experience), all over the desert outside Fallon Nevada, first section of the Rubicon and a few other trails in the Tahoe area. Astounding how capable the FJ is with no real modifications outside of tires.

Eventually we had to choose to sell it though as I was deploying, we had a little one on the way, we are moving overseas for 3 years, and the wife wanted her 4 door Mom mobile (see our 4-Runner, what else would we buy?). But I plan to buy and build another FJ when I return to the states, I cannot think of a better platform for reliability, capability and style...
