Yeah you got to keep up ont the maintence. If you haven`t flushed the trans fluid get it done. 120K is a long way to go without replacing the fluid. I do mine every 50K

Yeah it sounds to me like your FJ just needs some cleaning and a tune up. Do the trans flush get the alternator replaced (all these jobs are easy if you know basic mechanics)
