I have an 07 automatic. Lots of snow in Mass so Ive been using 4low and 4 high a lot. Also pulling a small aluminum trailer. At about 80k I had the transmission "shudder thing" and had a new torque converter installed. Now I'm at 104k and the dashboard lit up. Check engine, slip warning, VSC off, VSC trac, all lit. Went to Autozone to have the a scan. It came back pressure control solenoid "A" and "D" performance. Shifted a little rough after that and the overdrive stopped working. The warning lights went off about 2 days after they went on but still no overdrive. Highway driving sucks when constantly high RPMs . Have a date with a local garage on Tuesday. Any idea on what it might be? Hate going into these thinks uninformed. A mechanic that used to work on my VW's suggested that step one an Trany flush, but that it could need a new Trany.

How long ago was tthe TC replaced, and was it replaced by a Toyota dealer, an independent Toyota truck specialist, or just some guy at the local gas station?

Absolute first thing do do when there is any transmission-related functional problem is to verify transmission fluid level.
