I have a 2007 and have needed to replace my rear shocks and front struts for awhile. So, I bought new rear shocks from my local auto parts dealer and they fit, but the bottom of the shock where the bolt goes through was too long and over hang the FJ's shock mounting rod. I got a second set at another auto parts dealer and had the same problem. Finally, I went to my Toyota dealer and brought their rear shocks and they fit like a glove. The issue was a major price difference between auto parts dealers' and Toyota's price. The price difference was over a hundred dollars. Now, I am ready to tackle the front struts and am wondering if I should just go buy the struts from Toyota, pay the difference, and save the hassle?

Finally, what are the best OEM front struts for the money? I bought my FJ in 2011 and it is only a street machine with no off-road driving.
