It looks like the 2014 radio is different than earlier models. Is it plug and play to swap out a 2014 and put it in a 2010 which had the earlier design?

Yes, it would be a plug n play swap.

It also has xm radio and the potential to add Bluetooth ( with addition of steering wheel controls and microphone ).

There is a JBL unit that looks similar to the one posted that would not be plug n play.
