Hey Ya'll,

I've been meaning to sit down and type this up since I got back from my trip a couple weeks ago, hoe you enjoy.

So my girlfriend and I decided that after I left my job and before I started Law School, we should take a trip. So, what better way to spend a month then in the FJ!!!! I saved for almost a year, and we made it happened.

Going to try and share some of what we did in our 30 days and 6700 miles. We were in 14 states and 9 National Parks. We are avid hikers, campers, and climbers, so we definitely sought out the parks. Here's the route we took:

We made our way from Memphis through Texas and New Mexico in a matter of days. Spent a few days hanging out in Austin and stopped by Carlsbad Caverns NP in New Mexico.

Next we headed to Phoenix and got ready for the camping and hiking to begin. We headed from Phoenix to the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert NP, then on to the Grand Canyon.

We hiked down and out the Grand Canyon, spending two nights camping at the bottom. Great hike down South Kaibob and up Bright Angel. (Fighting off the urge to talk about the camping and climbing and focus on the FJ!)

From the Grand Canyon we headed to The Wave which is amazing.

After that we drove to Zion National Park. Rolling through the entrance I saw a couple of heavily modded FJs and a bunch of guys taking a picture by the sign (this was in mid-July). I assume they were forum members, so if you're out there, who are you?

We spent a few nights in Zion, hiking climbing and camping. Zion is an amazing park..

From Zion we headed towards Vegas to do some more climbing and then a couple of nights of showers and losing money at Caesar's Palace. Some friends that had joined us for a few days of the trip flew out of Vegas, then we got back in FJ and headed straight for MOAB!!!!

So, we had never been to Moab, and we were psyched. It did not disappoint. Arches and Canyonlands are both great parks! Plus, the entire town of Moab is built around off-raoding and climbing, I never wanted to leave. The cargo carrier on the back of my rig definitely restricted us from hitting the trails as hard as we wanted, but we still spent three days off-roading and some time climbing.

From Moab we drove straight to Jackson Hole and the Tetons, one of my favorite places on Earth. We spent five nights camping in the Tetons and driving all over to climb/hike.

I love the Tetons so much, that I had waited to get there to let out the ring I had stashed under the rear seats haha. I asked my girlfriend to marry me while were in the Tetons, then got back in FJ engaged.

Next we drove to Yellowstone for a couple nights of camping. Anyone who has been there knows the figure 8 roadway. Great park to drive around and spend time in the truck, driving from attraction to attraction (obviously getting out at each!)

We headed out of the West Entrance of Yellowstonw, into the town of West Yellowstone and headed north to Big Sky. Stopped an hung out a bit there to check it out in the summer (we've skied it in the winter before). Then continued north to Bozeman. Believe it or not we did some more climbing there haha.

From Bozeman we drove East to South Dakota. We checked out Crazy Horse and Mt. Rushmore, before heading towards the Badlands NP.

At this point, we were 28 days in and still 1000 miles from home. So although I didnt ever want to return to reality, we got on the road and headed home...

I knew this trip would be one of the best of a lifetime, and it far exceeded my expectations. My FJ performed flawlessly!!!!! Never had any issues and got to really take advantage of all the mods I have done over the past year (dual battery, kc lights, 285s, cargo drawers, etc...)

No regrets about this one! I'd get back in my rig and leave for another month right now if it were an option.

We have so many pictures that it's hard to pick what to put up so may add more later.

Anyways, hope y'all enjoy!

I'm very partial to the Tetons. I've been there before and climbed The Grand and some other great stuff there in the past. The wildlife, hiking, climbing, and camping is really hard to beat not to mention the mid 70s during the day and mid 50s at night that the summer usually brings! Although I will say Moab was a blast I definitely want to go back and spend some more time there, I can't imagine a more fun place to go in the FJ, so many trail options so close not to mention two national parks!

I just got back from the Tetons a few days ago... You can even do some wheeling there in addition to all the other cool stuff

Great pics and congrats on the engagement. I miss big roadtrips and I miss Wyoming and Montana so much. I'm guessing your FJ will be with you for a long time now with such a great history.
