About how much does a subwoofer go for?

1141 Views 10 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  bandi
I have a factory sub in a 2008 and am considering getting rid of it so I can put a shelf in. What do these normally go for price wise? Also... does the wiring stay in there?

Thanks for any tips. I'm the worst at figuring out prices.

Best bet is to place it on ebay. There is a lot of interest there. It will go for $300+. Just sold mine for $355.
Also, just unplug the white plug under the sub. Thats all you need to do.
Hey bambam, once you get rid of it, you can wire tap into the cables that were supplying power to it, and run a 12volt outlet to the back of the FJ. I did this and put it directly over the a/c outlet. Took about 20 minutes including drilling time.
Just curious, How many amps on the outlet can you run by using this, i have noticed mine has the plug under the plastic cover..?

Wow that's a good idea! I never thought of that. Thanks

Are you talking about pluggin in your own sub? I have no idea.
Thanks for the great tips guys. I guess to ebay it goes.
I sold mine on eBay for over $400, but that was a while ago. If you convert the wires to run 12v, does the subwoofer switch turn that outlet on and off?
REMEMBER, you will need all the replacement
parts which will run you more than the woofer
at retail price... Let me find the link... BRB...

Here ya go, some info...

I believe it was somewhere between 200-300
hundred dollars for all the parts from the dealer
to patch up the panels from removing the sub
woofer, and that was from a vender here on
the forum... The pict' below shows all the itmes
needed...
