Wanted to have an accessory plug that, unlike factory lighter/accessory jack, did not turn off with the key. Need to charge cell phone, camera, etc. Purchased a decent unit at a local auto parts store. Unit has little wings that pop out after placement in hole.
1. Pic showing accessory jack unit. I taped the exposed terminals (can't hurt).
2. Hole drilled through center console near shifter and near storage bin. Unit has two keyed notches to keep it from rotating in hole. It's always fun drilling holes in a two week old vehicle!
3. Unit placed through hole, wings open and secure.
4. Completed install with built-in cover opened.
I used an add-a-circuit for now, added to the accessory fuse location in the fuse panel. Will soon add a fuse block that is always powered, maybe with individual switches for each item.
Phone is a Verizon Chocolate and is a perfect fit in console. How about that?!
