just bought 2 subs sony 12" dual coil 4 ohm rms 400 watts

a 4 channel amp with these writings in the manual

100w x 4 @ 4 ohms
200w x 2 @ 2 ohms
bridged 400w x 2 @ 4 ohms


After calculations 400 amps is the way i'm going but

with the same impedense i can wire:

4 coils to 4 seperate channels
or
Parrallel both at 2 ohms each wich gives 400 watts total
or
series 8o hms both then parralel wich gives 4 ohms connect it to a channel

what's the best to do it's a ****ty amp , not menntioned wich is stable

If you wire each voice coil to a different channel, you're going to burn up your subs within hours.

Whatever you do, please don't do that.

Since your amp isn't 1 ohm stable, your best bet would be to wire the coils on each sub in parallel to generate a 2 ohm load per sub. Then you can choose to wire each sub to a channel for 200 watts per, or put them in series to get the single 4 ohm load at 400 watts bridged. The total power and power to each will end up the same, so whichever is easier for you to wire up should be the route to take.

I would wire them in series and drop overall ohm load to 2ohm and use all the amps power!
Jl audio has some great wiring diagrams.

Your amp should run at 2ohm stable and should put out more power. Check amp manual to verify that it can handle 2ohm.

A lot of amps will run 2 ohm stable per channel but bridging them they are only stable to 4OHM. I agree with TRAY & DOFJ it will burn up the amp but using 2 OHM just for speakers not sub bridged is perfect.

Go for it then.

I was simply trying to warn you what will happen when the wattage changes even a miniscule amount between channels and the sub starts moving off-center.

I run 3 jl12w3 in my boat with a ppi pc21400 amp bridged to 1 channel. If I remember I am around 1.9 ohms. I forget because its been a few years since I did the install. Nothing like 12's with a solid bass note. 1.5 cubic ft sealed boxes.
The more watts the smaller the box
