I am trying to remember if indicator for the passenger side airbag light is on all the time or if the seat has weight on it? can't recall.

Every time I put something in the passenger seat the Damm warning chime would sound while driving. You can disconnect that weight sensor. It's a simple plastic wire connection under the seat.

The AIR BAG ON indicator light is only turned on when the sensors in the seat detect "adult' class of weight on the seat.

The seat weight sensors try to distinguish between adult, child, or empty seat, and trigger different levels of front airbag actuation force, and if the side air bags are deployed.

less than fourty .. I remember a 30pack of beer would set it off

My dog harness and leash along with a jacket can turn the light on in my FJ.
