Allpro Front Bumper Issues!!!!!

3140 Views 26 Replies 20 Participants Last post by  mikerd400
Today I had to unbolt my ALLPRO bumper to get at the AC line that I broke, in the process I noticed that the finish on my bumper is bubbling and flacking off. I have only had the bumper since January. Has anyone else had a problem with the finish on there bumpers? I havent called them yet, is there warranty that covers this? I cant believe that after only 6 months it looks so bad.

Did it come painted or powder coated when you got it???
Paint it! mine is holding up well and I beat the hell out of it...we dont have salt and rust down here though!
AllPro isn't responsible for the finish. All that it takes is an oil spot or a small oxidation spot under the powder coat to create a problem. I got mine bare metal. I had it sand blasted and powder coated and haven't had any issues but I know it was done right.
The freon burned it off.....Rattle can, baby...Rattle can!!!!
I'm sure some Rustoleum will fix er' up!:rocker:
a lot of these bumpers have garbage finishes. Supper crappy powdercoating. No biggie.... just sand and paint or have a good powdercoat put on.
I'm dealing with Allpro as we speak about my bumper. They have been responsive however they say they have credited me but didn't.
Duplicolor's Trim black is a nearly dead on match. A little sanding and spray it-- about an hour's work.
At least you can paint over your issue with your bumper.

Mine is a little more difficult.

The driver side hoop in front of the headlight is about 3 degrees off.

It makes the whole thing look jacked up.
We put one on an FJ here and the AC line was an issue too! Seems like a notch in the bumper could have prevented that issue. That same bumper is faded and rusting pretty good as well. Prob been on the truck a year now.
Tell me you don't see anything wrong with this bumper package.

No, I didn't do it either. Not a scratch on it.

55reasons thats jacked up! I would have sent that back. If its to late to do that just cut both sides off so it is at lest even.

Edit:
i remembered there removable might want to check and see if you can just send the hoop back for a new one that is straight.

X2 that just sucks !!

Maybe just take it off and try some fab on it yourself!!!
It would drive me crazy as well.. I'd have it gone and/or replaced.. Ron

Well, I'm kind of in a unique situation.

I bought it with it on there last week. The guy I bought it from says he got it last month.

So, even though it's only a month old, I'm not the original "purchaser".

If I was it would have been boxed up and sent back the same day it showed up like that.

Anyway, I guess I should get less lazy and try to contact them about.

I just don't want to pay shipping, gas is too expensive to drive it out there, and I really don't have the time to make it myself.

I have made a couple sandrails, so it's not beyond my skills to fix it, but then I have to come out of pocket to get it powdercoated again.

It's cheaper to just make a new one from scratch than spend the time and powdercoat on the one that's jacked up.

But I'm heading to Africa for a couple years, and I really don't feel like spending the time I need to get my affairs in order worried about a prerunner bar fabbed up by the hunchback of notre dame..

I'll tell you though, that if I came out of pocket MYSELF for that setup I would be more than furious.

I got the FJ with all the stuff on it, including the fully adjustable suspension with external rezzies and winch with 20k on the odo for CHEAP, so I can't really complain about the retard bumper too much.

I am assuming you mean they are not responsible ONLY if you have you bumper arrive bare and you paint it your self. Or, that they are not responsible because they outsourced to have it powder coated at another facility.
I disagree with the latter. If they are going to sell a bumper powder coated, than they need to make sure that they are getting the best people to do this and that their work is top notch. So, i would say, if they have the bumper powder coated at another facility, and then sell it to consumers, they are responsible for the finish.
This is not the first case i have heard of people having their All-pro bumper finish flake off. This may be just because of the ac line causing it to flake, but the other cases were not.

Who ever welded that at Allpro that day, must have been high as a MOFO if they thoguht that was straight
What makes it a really obvious manufacturing flaw is that it's not crooked in or out either.

It's just waaaaaay off up and down. You can tell just by looking at it that the "hoop" wasn't even cut to the same size as the other side.

I haven't even looked around the A/C
