Aluminum cargo-bay rack for two Scepter fuel or water containers

I built a little aluminum rack to hold a pair of Scepter fuel or water containers. I'd previously used a pair of ratchet straps to secure the containers to the BaerTrax cargo plate, but they were awkward to install and still allowed some movement of the containers over rough terrain.

The rack is secured to the cargo plate with turnbuckles that create a totally rigid setup. Two heavy-duty EPDM tie-down straps secure the containers in the rack even if the vehicle should roll, but allow the containers to be removed in a few seconds. The inward-facing surfaces of the aluminum extrusions are lined with rubber to prevent any abrasion of the containers.

That's a very nice set up.

Though if you made the top cross bar removable on Antiluce fastenings or something then getting the cans in and out would be easy without having to lift them right up... or is that just my thinking as a shorty?
