I'm looking to install either a 706M2G, FT857, or 7000/7001 with separation kit in my FJ.
I haven't really decided which radio but I used to have an FT100 and I figure when it omes down to it, they would all work fine for me.

Now... Where to put it and how to mount etc...
I'm leaning towards an 857 with the ATAS Antenna mounted off the camera mount on the spare tire with radio under passenger seat and head by the switches at dash and center console area.

Anyone do this already and have any pics?
Or better suggestions welcome too!

I use remote faces on both my 8800R UHF/VHF and 7000 HF rigs. Both are mounted on ProClip platforms. Check out ProClip. They have all types of mounts for every type of vehicle.

I'm running a Kenwood TM-D700 mounted in the ARB console with the radio and Trimble GPS mounted in the rear cargo area.

I love that meter DX. Nice job.

I'm still procrastinating.
At least I finally decided on an FT857D with ATAS.
Thanks, I'll put some pics up soon of the whole install.
