Theres a little of everything there, dirt roads, small dunes, tight washes, and narrow ridges. I have never driven out there, but spent quite a bit of time out there on my bike. There are some cool areas around there too. It would be a fun weekend trip when it cools down.

ocotillo is in San Diego area....bit too far for me.

if anyone is still interested in going up to Rowher Flat, let me know. I could not find a map but there's written direction on this website. if you don't know where 14 freeway is, just follow 5north pass 101 and 118.
