I am hugely happy with Oziexplorer on my laptop but that has alot to do with the ease of downloading all the USGS maps for free.....If your gov has a website you can download digital maps Ozi can load them.
Anyone using eTopo (maps) and/or MapExplorer?
I tried the search function and got nothing. I have looked around at various sites but mostly only find sales information.
Since I am not going to be having online mapping (think Air2Air Google Earth) since there is a distressing lack of communication in the far north, I will be going towards an actual mapping software tool for a laptop, maybe even for dGPS.
So, hopefully someone on the forum has either used this or had better luck than me trying to find information on the 'net?

eTopo is the Canadian equivalent of the USGS digitalised maps I think. Ozi is similar to MapExplorer it looks like.
