Backseat Noise ANYONE?

I am mainly a lurker on the forum and rarely ask a question but this one I could not find an answer for so here it comes:
I have noticed recently some sort of squeaking noise coming from the back seat of my FJ and it drives the hell out of me. I asked my wife to drive while I sit on the back to narrow down where the noise is coming from and noticed that when I sit on the right hand side of the back seat, the noise disappears. I was curious if anyone else had a similar issue and how did you fix it. Thanks in advance

I had my seats rattle a couple of months ago.Driving me crazy.Took it to the dealer they put some type of sound proofing material on the base of the seats.Took it away just a little.they compared the rattle on a new Fj's and hup even a new one rattle.take it to the dealer have them fix it....
Sure you dont have your friends in the back *****ing about the lack of air and grab handles?
You posted this in two areas...stop posting this everywhere. I posted on the other area what you do, unlatch the back seat and wrap electrical tape around the metal latch, then slam it back. By doing this you are preventing metal on metal which eliminates the noise.
It's the part where the seat backs lock, spray some lube in there and it'll stop.
The only noise I hear coming from the back seat of my FJ is when my kids are back there fighting with each other...
Hey sorry for posting this in multiple threads. Thanks guys, I am glad I am not the only one who is a freak about things rattling in my car.
Appreciate everybody's responses.:rocker:

Well go back and wrap it up and tell us what you think.

hey guys i had the same problem, someone from the forum told me to put some tape around the hinge. Worked like magic. thanks to this forum i saved myself $1000, as the dealer had no clue and was saying i needed something done to my suspension!!!

Dealers are idiots, they always try to take the most expensive route and it usually doesn't fix the problem or causes a new one. The less stuff they take on and off my FJ, the happier I am.
I had some bad squeeks as well last year... I added a little white lithium greese to the latches and all was fine......

Hah! I woulda said **** you right there. You JUST bought the vehicle and he said to "fix" a noise that is bothering you, you have to PAY them? Bloody idiotic dealers. Good to know this fix worked for you. The other thing you can do is is generally spray light silcone on it which will create a very very small surface on the metal that is "smooth" so it won't make noise.
Problem SOLVED
As F.E.A.R. suggested I went the electrical tape route and the noise desapiered. I LOVE the silence, its just like the day I bouth it :lol::rocker::cheers::). Thanks guys

Exactly what I used, worked great. I even use the stuff on the door hinges.

I never heard it when people rode in the backseat because they held the seat against the latch. As soon as they got out it would rattle. I wrapped electrical tape around the latch and the noise stopped.
Maybe you could wrap the tape around the kids too? :):jester:
