Big Oops while attempting to install new Teyes Head Unit.

Does anybody have a part number for the Hazard/Rear Defrost buttons module that is above the climate controls to the left of the stereo? I am afraid I screwed up here as there is somehow a gash in the ribbon cable that appeared as I was attempting to install the climate controls into the new facia... Not sure how I did it but it happened, this is not my first rodeo with small fragile ribbon cables but here we are and I am going to need to replace that button module. Ebay search only turns up complete climate controls for hundreds of dollars and I fear this is going to be very difficult to replace, having to manually chase down the part from a salvage yard unless I can find a part number for it and order it from Toyota... Any help is appreciated. This install is not going well so far, there is also a bad misalignment of the A/C and Recirculate buttons on the facia and the buttons do not function due to the plastic facia pushing against them. Not too pleased with the Facia here, but I hope it all becomes worth it once the stereo is actually installed.

Actually disregard, some searching old threads revealed that I can just replace the ribbon cable itself Thanks to @rev. 3:11 Hey bro, so the 8 pin cables you linked should work for this right?

Is that just a basic commercial ribbon cable that with exposed contact fingers at both ends that plugs into push-in connectors? If so, it's known as an FFC (Flat Flexible Cable).

If it's an FFC, all you need to know is the pitch of the contact fingers, the thickness over the fingers, the number of conductors and the length, and it should be available for less than $1 from any of the major electronic component houses.

Post some good quality photos of both ends of the cable, the number of conductors, and the length ... we use many of these cables in our products ... if I happen to have something usable, I'll send you one.

Yes I think I got it covered Thanks to an old thread from here. Ordered new ribbon cables on Amazon.
A little Clarification of the 8 pin Ribbon Cable, I ordered from Amazon. It is a 150mm long 8 pin ribbon cable "Type B" With the blue tab on the ends on opposite sides of eachother. This cable will probably be longer then factory but that isnt an issue. I just wanted to clarify the Type B and Type A Differences because @rev. 3:11 Said he needed Type A for his installation so it might be different for my 2008 FJ from his I don't know but my Cable is clearly a Type B... So long as the pitch size and Pin count are correct I think this should work... But I am proceeding with install and will worry about having to pull the stereo again to replace the ribbon cable once the new cable arrives from Amazon... I expect delays on it but maybe I will get lucky and it will arrive tomorrow. I think I nicked the ribbon cable with my knife which I was using to pry the clips off the climate controls judging by that clean slice...

The OEM ribbons are same on all years (I have an '07 & '11)
The head-units differ in the way they assemble the circuit board , hence, some requiring "A" type & some requiring "B" or reverse type.
Stand by I'll check fo my spares & I'll PM you or post tomorrow to send you a couple if /when I locate 'em.
(Also PM'd you)
Darrell
I have installed lots of head units back in the day, but have not done an install in probably 10 years and this Multimedia unit is a whole new ballgame with about a million wires to deal with lol... I got Wifi, GPS and 4G Antenna's to route into the dash somewhere in addition to all the RCA cables that will go to my amp, usb cables to a dash ports and dashcam, plus reverse cam oof... Gonna be a long day tomorrow getting it all sorted :ROFLMAO:
Just wanted to post the outcome of this, the 8 pin ribbon cables purchased on Amazon from uxcell worked perfectly.
