IF they are doing a 15% black and 85% clear then you should. Basically it gives off a look of black when it's still actually clear. The second the lights go on you can't tell.

Mike's offroad here in DFW charges $99.99 per set, I wouldn't pay too much over that. You will have some loss of signal strength but that is expected. When the light comes on it will be yellow(for the turn signals). That is what most inspection places are looking for BUT if they pass you it really is up to them. For this reason I have a spare set.. I will swap them (takes 15 min max) go have my inspection then swap them back.

EDIT: You may want to check and see if the cops are going to give you a hard time too. Here in Texas they will if they want but not always.

I bought mine from xtremewhite.com (look under my build). I can't see paying someone to do the same exact job (and paint) $200 that cost me $26. But I fully understand that some people don't want to mess with it... That was me (2yrs ago) with the mirrors but now I know how easy that is too.

Your choice, just wanted to inform you of your other options.

When I was 18, I had my lights in my VW Passat blacked out. They were done at a RICER place but after a few years the paint started cracking and the tail light began to look like crap. If I had to do it over again I would not reccomend blacking out the lights.

They charged you 100 dollars for painting your front signal lights? or for a new set? any idea how much a new set would cost?
