I do not have the tools to do this type of modification therefore I need to find a shop in the Shreveport area that can do a body mount chop. Does anyone know of a shop that does this? Also, about how much should it cost?

If anyone answers you, please let me know. I am looking in the Texarkana area. I hear there is a place in Hot Springs, but I haven't talked to them.
I haven't got up enough courage to try it myself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone in the 4 states area??????

I started calling around last week. One place said they could do it, though the technician didn't know what I was talking about. Another place was a custom truck accessories store and they had no clue what I was talking about either.

I want to get this done before going to Superlift next month.

No one will know what you are talking about. You need to either being in pictures or show them the video on YouTube of what to do when you get there to give them a clear idea.

Also, you don't have to bring it to a custom car/ offroad shop. Any place that has scrap metal and a welder can do this job.

I took mine to a custom offroad shop that is really popular around here and they had no clue what I was talking about either. I sent him pictures and a link to one of the threads with pictures and he was like Ohhhh yeah sure I can do that.

Price depends on the shops hourly rate. It should take about 1-1.5 hrs. Make sure they box it in and don't just cut off the protruding part of the mount. A new piece has to be welded in to cover the area they cut off.

Definitely! I have seen a few pics of those they just cut off and I do NOT like it. A must for being boxed in.

Layton, I ended up doing exactly what you said do and took the pictures from the forum to a body shop just down from my work. After looking at the pics and me explaining it, he said he would do it. Don't care for what he is charging, but the convenience of his shop I can't beat.

Glad you found someone to do it for you....I'm no longer in Shreveport (in OKC) If I was still in the area, I would've been more than happy to bring my tools and helped you out in it....

I don't have to worry about backing up now. Not even close to rubbing anymore; however, I can't wait until Superlift in a couple of weeks to test it out further.
