Has anyone in the AR/LA/MS Area had the Body mount chopped and welded? If who did you go to and would you recommend them?
I have read up a lot about this over the past two years on this forum and feel totally confident to do it myself. I just not have found the time to execute the BMC. I have my Spidertraxx spacers ready to install when I do. I'm not sure if you have done the extensive research on the forum yet, but do you due diligence on research. It's a simple procedure, and if you or a buddy has a welder and knows how to weld you should be just fine to complete the task! If you are close to my location, I'd be willing to lend a hand. Best of luck! :bigthumb:Ok thanks for the info. I'm still kicking around the idea .. to do it or not..
I just replaced the rims on the fj.. Still have the same tires though.. 285/60/18's.
Special thanks to Matt at Discount tire.. they no longer rub under normal circumstances.. haven't had the opportunity yet to hit the trails. so not sure how they will do. But, so far so good!
Yes, this piece is welded to the frame. Structurally it supports your body in that area.I'm in Mississippi. Long way off .. If I were closer.. I would most likely take you up on that offer. But, since you have done all the research. I'll ask you this question.. Most likely a dumb one, but I'm going to ask anyway. Is the body mount anyway shape or form part of the frame?
