Hey guy's does anyone have one? If so how long does it take to fill your main tank from it? Mine took almost 2 hours to get to 3/4, I just think that it's to long.
Any help would be appreciated

G'Day Mate,
I doubt any one in the US has a BD tank,
your transfer rate is way too slow, which suggests a vacuum seal, a blockage in the transfer pipe or a stuffed pump.
My $$ is on a blockage or pump failure.
Normal pump rate with LRA and BD is 2-3 litres per minute.
If you have an external filter between tanks, also check its not clogged up. Might need a new filter.

cheers

What's this, another option for an Aux Tank? It's not the long ranger?
G'Day Mate,
yep, another aux tank option. Basically the same as LRA, made by Brown Davis.
Design n function pretty much identical.. and about the same price.
cheers

Thanks Baz,
Took a look at his website and Wow, that's 29 gallons in a Aux tank....... Oh, I'm jonesing for an aux tank. 29 plus 19 gallons, would give me about a 600 mile range. Dayummm! Probably not cost effective to ship, duty fees, broker, etc...... I really would like a tank from lzalusky as his stuff is the shhzzt, but I haven't seen or read anything about production within the last year or so. Just might have to pull the trigger on a a Man-a-Fre. Going to take a long road trip end of September.

G'Day Jamey,

There are actually 5 manufacturers of aux tanks that I know of.
3 ex Aust.
1 - USA - Man-a-fre
1. Sth African

Plus the custom builds, Like Leigh's.

You are correct, importing one won't make it cost effective.
Pure FJ do have an aux tank on their website - not sure which one.

Whitey, sorry for the thread hi-jack....

cheers

Everything is brand new, I just put it in, so I can't see it being a blocked filter or pipe might be a vacuum issue, I'll check all of the connections. How would I check if the pump is faulty?

G'Day Mate,
Can you hear the pump ?
With all aux tanks that I know of, you can hear the pump rat a tat tat ... when moving its almost inaudible, but stationary or with the engine off. you should hear it.
check all your plumbing.
When I fitted my OE aux tank, I had a vacuum issue with the breather hoses, which made filling it a real pain.... like 30 minutes to fill. ended up changing the vent lines so the primary vented into the aux tank, not directly to the filler pipe. solved the issue.
Good luck.
also worth talking to BD, about it....

cheers

Thanks Baz, yeah I can hear the pump running, is it ok to run the pump while driving? I'll check it out. I've sent DB an email, just waiting to hear back from them

G'Day Mate,
Yes I pretty much only run the pump / transfer while driving, its probably a 10 amp draw - or there abouts, so can suck a bit out of your BAT if stationary. Most pumps will burn out if left running accidently with no fuel to move... so I also monitor the transfer.
check with BD on the flow rate of the pump too, this way you can set a timer if you want to move only as much fuel as you want.
Its easy to forget its pumping when driving etc.... done that before.... hahaha ...
If the pump is running, then it sounds more like a vent issue... slowing down the transfer rate as it fights to push the fuel over to the main tank.
did you put a breather line between the two tanks, to equalise pressure as much as anything ?
as fuel goes into the main, it pushes air back out to the aux, and the aux vents back up to the filler cap...type thing, will also help when filling tanks...allows the air out.... across both tanks

Cheers
Baz
