Have been looking for a larger side panel decal for my Iceburg for long, but can't find any non-custom good ones that fit FJ. Given that i have to go for a custom vinyl shop, I went ahead and designed my own so that it will be more meaningful and save me quite a few custom design bucks :)

It's still a design on the computer at this moment but i'm just excited to share my progress. In case someone is looking for something similar or has more experience and can give me some advice.

So here's how it looks:

UPDATE:

Added some more improvements to the design. Previous design just looked incomplete.

Let me know what you think!

looks great. my 2 cents would be to lesson or remove the mud splatter from the FJ to make it more readable. Especially the text. Maybe increase the size of the FJ a tad bit.

Sorry my architectural eye is always looking for readability/distance intended.

I think you could leave the diagonal lines over the FJ as they are pretty minimal and work to tie it all together.

looking forward to seeing the real decal installed!

Right, I got ya. Very good advice. Thanks a lot!

PS: i have been thinking of doing the lower door like you, more for paint protection. Did you get it done in a shop? How much did it cost you?

Bottom is rhino liner, I have no idea. I assume with prep and labor 400-500ish.

My roof/C pillars/rear door is vinyl and that was 450.

Another suggestion is to try one without the 2 vertical lines on each side of the FJ. They seem to chop it up a lot. The diagonals don't. Maybe rotate the side ones to an angle??

man...that's big bucks..

I see what you meant. yeah, i think i'll use some mud spot to break up the lines a little to make it less of a clear cut. thanks a lot man!

I see what your saying but I kind of like that you don't read the FJ from a distance but then you get an extra little treat when you get up close.

I really like the design, fitting for the FJ and looks great on the white body.

Before this gets out of hand- no one will be selling anything on here unless your a forum vendor. Just keep the selling part out of the comments please and get back to the original threads intent.

-Thanks OC

Thanks for the comment! That was the feel i tried to achieve:cheers:, however this kind of subtle things are difficult to manage as i am not professional designer. Even the mud pattern are quite subtle to keep the balance.

I like it better without the trail teams graphics. I think something around the front fenders could balance it out a little too
It could look more hardcore or utilitarian without the logo. But I personally like somehow related to FJ or TRD or Toyota as I am quite loyal to the brand. The front fenders are my next steps

Sorry about the confusion. I am not plan to make any profit from forum activities. Merely for hobby sharing and making friends:smile

Anyone want the decal I am more than happy to send the the file and let them make it their own.

Hi, I really like this design, and I am thinking of designing one of my own to mass produce and sell! (Maybe only just a mud splash like a raptor) however I was wondering what software you used to design this because it's awesome! Thanks
