Plastidip's Camo Green looks a bit different then the Factory AG our rigs can come in. I tried searching, but couldn't find any color comparison pics between the factory Army Green and the plastidip army green. I wanted to green plastidip my white top for my rig, but didnt want to do it if its way different shade of green. I might just do a camo design on top if it's too different of a color from the factory Army Green. Anyone know?

I am sorry if I missed it, but how did you spray it? The finish looks very even and smooth. I hate streaks and dry spots in paint job over large areas. It's what's holding me back from doing my hood.

Re: Camo Green plasti dip'd entire FJ (Updated Pics)

****updated***

Always wanted an Army Green. S I figured a cheap way to one and came out pleased. I just did it this week. Blacked out handles, mirrors, rear wings, head lights and tail lights. And od green the rest. I am going to summit so I'll see how the stuff holds up on the trip. I also put a fresh coat of paint on the fab fours front bumper.

It took 3-4 gallons of plasti dip, bought some from dip your car and some more and an airless from SSP INC out of Houston, those guys rocked. They mailed me what I needed to finish the process and saved the day.

How much did it cost to get this done or did you paint it yourself? I live close to college station and really would like to do that:rocker:

I haven't been on the forum in awhile, but I thought I would go ahead and answer some of the questions that were left.

It cost about $300 in product (shipped) I used about 3 gallons (5 coats) to do it. I used an airless gun that is sold by Pastidip.com. It works very well for this application. I watched videos on youtube and after doing it I can say you save alot of work if you prep well.

Hope this covers everything. It has held up well almost a year in. I would recommend buying the washing kit they have to maintain it. I park under trees and the only thing I have noticed is bird crap if left on for a long time can dis color the dip.

Holy crap that looks amazing. Congrats!

I'm not a big fan of plasti dip but I must say that is an awesome job. There a member who's thinking of doing the same thing who would've to talk to you. I'll find his post and get him the thread.

Anyone know how this compares to Rust-Oleum FlexiDip? Other than the color choices for Rust-Oleum FlexiDip in Gallon Size is flat white or flat black?
I would go with Plastidip, it has years on the market and its easy to apply.
I know flexidip is kinda the same thing but havent worked with it.

I also dipped my FJ.
Here's some pics

Just from using the rattle cans, flexidip likes to run even more, and it comes out pretty smooth. Not like the texture plastidip has. I have used both.

Wow, that looks cool. I used Rustoleum Sand to paint my black diamond. My least favorite part is all the taping and masking.

I have used both and I am 99% sure it is an identical product. I am guessing plasti dip is licensing the formula to rustoleum.

What about the differences in finish? The texture is very different.

The flexidip seems to have a much finer mist on the nozzle which may accout for the difference im finish. I have used both and it always comes out the same.

This is just speculation btw.
