I wanted to take my son to Cochran Falls this spring but I've seen a post that claims the trail/road to the bottom of the falls has been closed. Has anyone heard or been up there?

There have been deaths at Cochran Falls. One I think last year.

Cochran Falls is one of the few unspoiled/untouched waterfalls left in Georgia. It's off the beaten path so no tourists. The trail from the top side is unmarked, so no hikers. The trail from the bottom is rugged so no grocery getting SUV soccer moms. It's hard to get to but very much worth the effort.

Thanks, FJC5. Would be fun to hook up sometime. We love going through Cohuta and Big Frog. I can't make the next couple of weekends but sure would be a blast.

Thanks, FJC5. Maybe the road closure will put the waterfall further off the maps and make it more "wild". Like you I'll have to put it on my agenda for another time.

Wish I lived a little closer to the mountains. Gas is getting expensive.
