So after I got the correct diagrams for my model and connected the correct wire...
Still no dice... And on the upside - no fire either, so I guess I'm still winning!

Next step - Multimeter to check connections etc, and failing that, investigate the role of the clutch switch in all of this...
My car has the switch, it's just not connected to anything, and it doesn't have a clutch cancel switch, so I guess that stuff was deleted from the GCC 6MTs - along with the cruise wiring harness and the cruise indicator light on the dash.

This is becoming an obsession...

Does anyone know where the cable that leads from the clutch switch leads to? Another connector?

My ECU was also completely different to what was in Rostra manual (old and new). Till now I have no idea which cable is actually the one from the steering wheel to the ECU.. Well good luck then :)

I figured that out and which pin to connect it to on the ECU, but I messed the terminal up, so I need a replacement terminal for the ECU connection. There is also a possibility that I need to connect the clutch switch. The Cruise indicator is another ECU connection, but I don't think that will be required to make it work.

The connector is the 2nd to top (E77), and it is position 11 that you need to push the terminal into.

The other end of the ECU wire needs to go into the spiral connector along with an earth into the same connector. Let me know if you need to know where that is.

Re: Need help for cruise control installation

Extra wires arrived today - resurrecting this project! Hopefully I have success tonight!

OK - So I installed the terminal into the ECU plug sucessfully - it's still not working. I haven't done an end-to-end check of the circuit with a multimeter, but I'm sure it's OK. I think the most likely culprit is the lack of a clutch switch... I'll hack that together tonight to test that theory after I have a quick check with the multimeter and I check my pinout diagrams.

I WILL get this bugger working...

So any success meanwhile ?
Not yet! To be honest I haven't done anything or ages on that. I think I need to fake a clutch switch with 12v to one of the ecu pins, but that will have to be switchable because I suspect it wont start with 12v applied....
I guess the switch will have to be labeled start / cruise

None - sorry. Maybe the coronavirus might give me some more time to finish all the projects that I've started...

Hello
It's many years since the start of this chat but... now i'm trying to do the same upgrade on my base model 2013 6MT GCC specs (= middle east).
I installed the CC stick but it's not working, and on the dash panel i can't find the shade of any light which could be reasonably the one of the cruise control.
If i got correctly the posts above, there is a solution to let it work, despite the missing panel light, which would show me when it's ON... is that correct?

And here is the sad truth about my base, 2013 6MT GCC:
After opening the steering wheel shroud i discovered that from the 12 pole connector, only the horn switch gets to a connected end.
Whatever You try to do out of the stock-supplied options, You have to provide yourself the wiring from the steering column until any destination.
This explains why also my attempt to put radio controls on steering wheel failed.

Well this is not a job for me, i will have to find a trusted car electrician.

No need car electrician , you can do it by your self:

Just connect the pin no.1 to the ground (any screw from the car body)

But the pin no.2 you need to connect it to the ECU pin which designed for the cruise control , it depended on your car model..

Waiting for your update ,,

Really i don't know , i am searching for that.
I followed @amaclach experiences , and i connected it at pin11 as his last note , but to no avail !!

((After this step, the engine lamp on the dashboard lights up, I disconnected the battery for a few seconds, after that everything was fine))

However we will wait for toyota technical , maybe he can help us.
Here in Saudi Arabia no one of the company employees wants to help us !!
They want to get you to buy a car with full options to pay them more money !!

Oh man - if you get an answer to this, let us know!
It will make the long Oman runs so much better... Pun intended.

My friend, this looks a hard thing to get... I mean, destiny against us. but i'm still confident :)
The guy who promised to help me (by forwarding the request to some not better defined "Dubai technical support staff") is now quarantined due to suspected contact with someone...blablabla...
So, meanwhile we wait for him to be back to work, as You are from Dubai (or at least, so it looks like to me...) We might try to work both, in parallel, on two fronts.
Apparently our models (2012-2014 MTM GCC FJs) are equipped with a strange "8966135k90" ECM whose terminals' design does not look like in the other FJ's.
The question (to anybody at the Toyota Technical Staff - Dubai) would be "Dear, pls. could You browse the electric maintenance manual of my 2012-2014 Manual GCC FJ and send me a printscreen of the ECM terminals design & legenda?"
If by doing this You don't get a clear-enough diagram, try to address Him to the pages of the Cruise-control troubleshooting.
If he wants a bribe, we can share the expense. But if the image doesn't match our ECM, we will want our money back :) :) :)

I'll let You know if from my side i can get something...
