I am looking to install a Currie anti-rock sway bar and wanted to see what everyone's thoughts were on it (the sway bar drop on the Fabtech lift makes it a rock magnet)?

What size works well on the FJ? Anyone have some picks of the mounting setup I can see?

Thanks very much.

You might want to do a search. I'm guessing you'll need the heaviest (thickest) bar that Currie makes, though my recommedation is that you're better off looking at something like the Sway-Loc that actually locks in position while on the road. Tera makes one as well as does another mfg. Do a quick search for Currie or Sway-Loc....there was a discussion in a thread not too long ago. I think it was one of sbechtold's threads.

No biggie....just flopped it on Highway to Hell a couple of weeks ago. Got it on video (including my dumb ass sticking my hand out as it went over)....but haven't loaded it as the aspect ratio is all screwed up and I am not computer/video savvy enough to figure out how to fix it. It was shot in widescreen but when we burn it to a disc with Windows Movie Maker or try to load it to Youtube, it gets all distorted where everything is long and skinny. Tried re-setting the aspect ratio in Movie Maker to the widescreen set up (16:1 or something) but haven't been able to get it to burn right.

Anyhow....I've run that obstacle probably 20 times before (a few of those in this buggy, the rest in my old Toyota truck) and the rear stickies just climbed a little higher on the passenger side than my old Swampers did....they used to slide in instead of sticking to the wall. Couple that with a newly washed out hole along the line and you get some floppage. No biggie. Dinged one of the tubes a little....but the whole thing landed on just that one 2" spot, so basically it was pretty limited damage considering.

Post the pics and vid in "Other vehicles" baby!
Gotta wait until I get it to look right.....right now, it looks like the end of an old western, where the figures get all tall and skinny as the movie fades out.

Currie makes two thickness bars that will work in the FJ. We use the 1" bar. The other one is .900". We have a kit that bolts the sway bar to the frame using factory mounting holes in the frame. ( no drilling or welding) You do have to use our high clearance tail pipe or modify yours. The only fabbing you'll have to do is weld the link mounting tabs to the axle. We are currently working on a tab kit too. We don't have the kit on the website yet but I'd be happy to help if you have anymore questions.
