Almost seems like "a dream come true." Don't be leading us down the path of wishful thinking now!All of your thoughts have been applied. It will have a flat bottom with custom grid pattern to run tie downs through. Yes it will have the ability to mount lights front and back. It will not be any higher than the stock rack is. Plus we have started on designing a mounting system for those of you that do not have a factory roof rack.
Now that I have some general interest in the product. We will hopefully have something for everyone to look at, probably a CAD drawing in the next month. I know everyone wants things in the now, but I want to do this the right way. Not some thrown together jerry rig. My background is in Engineering and Design. So the rack will be efficient yet strong and very capable of handling any load.
Thanks for the feed back guys. We will get things started tomorrow.
I, too, am very interested. I just can't seem to find one that does what I want. Your idea is the best description I've seen yet. One thing: Please design the attachments to the stock rack professionally. The last thing I want is a sweet rack attached with duct tape, bungie cords, or radiator hose clamps!
You catch my drift?
THANKS FOR THE UPCOMING HARD WORK!
