Hi All,

I'm just wondering if anyone can offer some advice in diff breathers.

I'm not intending on river crossings or going through water deeper than the lower half of the doors, however, should I fit diff breathers over the factory one way valves, and if so should I go all out by fitting a breather on the transmission?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Cheers.

Welcome! If the diff is hot and hits cold water it draws moisture in. Since the diffs sit way lower than mid door level, you would benefit from this cheap insurance. And while you’re at it you may as well give your tranny the same coverage. GL and let us know how it goes!

I did diff and e-locker breathers, didn't do transmission and had no problems with some pretty deep crossings up Cape York - top of headlights type stuff.

I'd do the transmission breather if I could find it :)

However, I did have to get the starter motor replaced as it has not one, but two seperate little breathers on it. I've heard of people just siliconing them up rather than running breathers though.
