Is anyone having a problem with their Tag not reading. I keep having a problem with the one I have. Could it be the winshield angle?, or bad tag. Anybody having same problem. Thanks
mine reads fine, it has only failed once, and that was in a station that i don't usually go thru, i have 2 pases (different tags) and they've been working fine.

Mine has about a 50% success rate. In the beginning I had kept it inside the drivers side dash compartment, and it would fail every now and then so then tried mounting it behind the rear view. After a few more failures, I then moved it to the base of the windshield. Still failed every now and then so I asked ezpass (NY) for a new one. Received it last month and it still fails every so often..
Now thinking about the license plate tag and hiding it behind the grill inbetween my hella horns.
I guessing your from Florida??? If so I have painted mine flat black and mounted it on the center of the dash flat just at the inside edge of the windshield.Blends in nicely and looks like part of the dash.Works flawlessly at 80mph through Florida Turnpikes drive thru lanes.
If is is double beeping change out the battery with new and let the sunpass people know your having an issue.Florida is pretty good at taking care of the issue.
Sunpass and EZ Pass are not the same product. Sunpass runs on back scatter protocol which is no active. Which means no battery resides in the tag. EZ Pass is an active system which employs a battery. They can and do go weak over time approximately 5 to 7 years. Make sure the tag is mounted properly and not upside down. Meaning the arrows on tag should be facing up. Also I would be interested if you have a 2 way pager alarm system.
The gap bridge is the one I'm having trouble at. It never works in the lane next to the divider and sometimes the other lanes. I sent for a new one. How far down did you move it? In relation to the mount on the windshield mirror mount. THANKS
rjadart if the problem is an individual lane the problem is not with your tag or vehicle. But rather the lane equipment not being maintained properly. More then likely the lane antenna angle is not set properly.
Screw it! You pay gasoline taxes-don't let the man charge you double for using the roads. Burn the pass and run the tolls! If everyone does it, what are they going to do?
(BTY, we have no toll roads and crappy highways, so I am just jealous)
