I want to black-out my a-pillar sections when I'm painting the mirrors. Anybody pull these things off? I don't want to break or bend anything, so any help is appreciated. Tried searching all the terms I could think of, nothing worthwhile returned.

I know someone was talking abut removing them in one of the roof-mounted driving light threads (you can run wires under them). APparantly there are clips underneath that you'll need to replace if you pry it off - they break. Ask the dealer for an exploded diagram and they should be shown. I gather they're not too expensive.

you need to remove the inside A-pillar and there is a 10mm nut that holds the A-pillar. You need a deep socket and use a magnet so you dont drop it . The outside A-pillar have 5 clips that usually break when removing them...

Here is a picture of the A-pillar exterior covers.

Part number for the clips is 75392-35210 and about $0.55 - $0.75 /each. Locations of the clips are circled in Red. The circled Blue are the studs for the 10mm hex nuts. Buy the clips ahead of time because you will break a few or all of them.

Thanks... I ran out of time for my paint job this weekend. I'll get this mod done in a few weeks!
