Hello, first time posting here but I've been creeping the forums for some time before I was an FJ owner.

I've had mine for 2 years now, put on about 50k kilometres since I got it and starting to upgrade some things, just ordered SCS Ray 10 Gunmetal 17x9 rims and Bilstein 5100s for the front and rear.

I want to go 285/75 R17 or 285/70 R17 and am thinking of Toyo Open Country AT2 as most of my driving is highway.

I have BFG AT K02 tires at the moment and I find they're hard to keep balanced.

I'm hoping I won't have to do the BMC for this, but the rep at SCS was saying I probably have to for anything over 265/70 R17. I think the 5100s would solve any issues with rubbing but we'll have to wait and see.

Anyway, recommendations on tires is gladly accepted.

Greetings from VT! My favorite All-terrain was Cooper S/T Maxx. Great testing/review article on Expedition Portal “Where the rubber meets the road” is worth reading :smile

I went with Cooper AT3 XLT 285/70/17 - getting them installed on Monday with Bilstein 5100s all around and a Daystar 1.5 rear coil spacer.

The shop said they've done the BMC before, but we'll have to wait until Monday to see if it's necessary.

From what I've seen here the 4th setting on the Bilsteins is the look I like, I'll post some pictures when it's all done.
