I bought my FJ last Jan. since I bought it, I have a relase feel "or drop sound" coming from the front brakes after stopping at a redlight. is this normal? I took it to the dealer twice, the first time they cleaned the breaks and the second time they explained that it is the new hydrolic break system so it is normal. I love my FJ but this is the only bad thing about it, if it is normal and everyone experiencing this then I can live with it.

I've not experienced the problem you describe with your brakes.

The ABS system is constantly performing tests, and some times you feel this as a slight vibration on you're breaks when you are stopped. i don't know if this is you're case but its something you want to keep in mind.

Welcome, sa_FJ

I would bet what you are actually feeling is the slip yoke bind. Grease the rear slip yoke and see if it goes away for a while. Also, if it is the slip yoke, you will not feel it on an easy stop, only on a moderate to firm stop.

thanks, yes this happens only on a moderate to firm stop. I will ask the dealer to grease it.
