Fj Driver Seat Hole -- reason

I have it and it is caused by fat a$$ sliding over and in instead of going up and over.

Seat cover are in my future.

Mine is starting to get a hole in the seat-back on the left lower side... for the same reason as @mikey

I just got seat covers yesterday and will install today.

To prevent this I ordered a set of clazzios with seat heaters last week, should be delivered this week.
Toyota will not, nor should they, do anything about getting a hole in a seat. That's a general wear item just like brakes and tires. If you drag something over something long enough it's going to wear. It's not just a Toyota problem, I bet there's a lot of '07 vehicles with wear/holes on the seat bolster.

Had mine fixed too, a few months back. Proctologist did a nice job!

Same here. But before I put the new seat covers on I super glued a soda bottle lid onto the piece of metal under the hole in the original seat cover to keep it from rubbing the same hole in the new cover. Time will tell if it works.

So you're telling me if I keep rubbing something over and over for years, I'll get a hole?

07 daily driver no hole. It is starting to wear though

No. In that case if you get a hole then you don't have to rub it "as much" anymore.

The side bolster reinforcement on the seat frame has a bad design on the early trucks. The reinforcement has a 90 degree bend at the bottom (right where the hole forms). That bend wears through the foam then seat cover. The later seats (don't remember what year) changed to a gentle bend at the bottom to prevent this.
I actually just fixed mine yesterday since it was very close to getting a hole. I plan to do a quick write up soon, but in short I used old blue jeans to reinforce the front and back of the foam, patched the foam, and applied another jeans patch to the back of the cover. It feels like new again

Most people wear jeans or pants with belt loops.
If you notice when you get in where your jean loop
or belt loop rubs.
That will help you with the hole problem.
And yes, I got one too. lol

I noticed this starting about 6 months ago... I just saw it again and it is not getting any better.

I am none too happy.

Priced a factory seat back cover and it is over $300 and then it has to be installed!

I noticed that the foam formed a void way before I started to notice any wear on the cloth. The cloth (and foam) on my armrest is wearing too... GRrrrr.
6 years 35000 miles Most of it in the garage.
