Gran Sabana by Mach1dsg

I figure I needed to start my build page since the signature won't allow me to have more than 500 words. Still a work in progress that little by little is being changed into what I've envisioned I wanted to have in my FJ.

How do you like the Falken Rocky Mountain 285/75/16? I found a really good deal on a set that are almost new and looking for some feed back.

Nice looking rig! I saw someone ask you earlier how you liked the Falkens - that's what I'm running now - no complaints. What's your take on them?

Sorry for the delayed reply guys, got busy with things in the office and family, so I didn't have a lot of time to browse around the forum until now.

No regrets with the Falkens, I've done nothing else that to give them hell, they won't chunk in the rocks no matter how bad you spin them, they're great tires for the little sticker price they have. 25k miles and they look like new, noise level have remained the same, they took a lot of weight to get balanced though, but again for $143 a piece, I have no complaints,, they handle rain very well, and stick very nicely when dry, not the greatest in snow, but i can have them iced down in the white stuff when needed, and here in Southern Cali, we have no snow unless i drive the mountains to see it during winter time, in my case, 1.5 hours away.

Got the Allpro IFS and Trans Apex skids installed today

Had to use a couple of jacks to maneuver the skids around, people were not kidding whey they said the install can be a little pita. it wasn't that bad, but time consuming to make sure everything was fitting properly. Had to dremel out a couple of little spots in the trans skid, so they chassis holes will line up with the skid, other than that, everything went in great.

Feel more confident now having steel down there, the skids look pretty beefy, so i'll give them a try tomorrow and see how many rocks i'll be able to crush with this things :)

Also perfect fit with the Trail Gear transfer case skid, they don't even touch at all.

This is the spot I had to dremel out a bit so the recessed bolts at the back of the trans skid would go in all the way. This is the passenger side where part of the cat brace would go

Everything installed already

I'll figure out if i'll have to drop the IFS skid during oil changes, I know somebody said with the Apex there is enough room to change the oil. I figure I could fit my arm in there to change the oil filter out, and use the hole at the back of the IFS to drain the oil, but it looks like it's going to be a mess of oil in there doing this way.

Still waiting for the the Allpro rear LCA's skids to get delivered.
