We are back home from the Southeast Toyota LandCruiser's annual GSMTR, it was our first time to Tellico. We meet a lot of new people and saw a lot of familiar faces from other TLCA chapters. There was a nice showing of FJ's at the event and that's not counting the East Coast Trail Team's 2 FJ's.

After riding these trails I can now see why some members on here & the STLCA members are so passionate about saving these trails for everyone to enjoy. I hope that when I and others post pictures from the event, you to can share the passion and help support Save Tellico or get involved at Southern 4WD Association.

I posted this up earlier in the original GSMTR thread but thought it deserved to be placed here as well.

We had a blast at our 1st GSMTR. Coming in on Thursday night we kind of made a wrong turn and followed the GPS and got way off track. But we made it to Crawford's and checked in to our cabin and got some sleep.

Friday we rode with Sylvan, Allen and several other 40's. We had a great day of riding and made our way back to camp in time to get ready for the dinner and raffle. Even though we didn't win anything we had a great time socializing with everyone and hanging out with the Trail Team.

This morning we meet up with the Trail Team and NCFJ (Stan and Heather) came down to ride with us. We had another great group to ride with and got to play on the rocks a little bit more. After coming back to camp LilMissTNSquire (Makayla) was not feeling well and with the majority of people packing up to leave we decided to do the same and make our way home. So, within an hour there should be some pics to follow.

I would like to thank the East Coast Trail Team. Ahmed, Will, Kevin, Zack, and Dennis were a great group of guys to hang out with and they took the time to humor me and pose for some pics. Also thanks for the goodies and we look forward to seeing you soon at some of the other rides.

I would also like to thank STLCA for putting on such a great event. Roger, Rob, Todd and Clutchee did an awesome job and got alot of great items donated for the raffle. I know they put in alot of hours to see to it that we all had a great time and will come back again next year.

We will be back and I encourage those that have never been to Tellico to get out there and check it out. It's a great place to wheel and for those of you that didn't make this year's GSMTR, you missed out! :)

Tellico is truley a beautiful place. Yesterday was my first time in a full size rig and I noticed how much I missed seeing as compared to riding my ATV there. Up side was I was far less beat physically. A day at Tellico on an ATV will wear ya down.

Tellico is right in the middle of the Smokey Mountains and no more than a couple hours from places like Gatlinburg, Pidgeon Forge, Knoxville, Chatanooga, and Asheville. If you are coming from the West coast you may wish to see some of those sights as well.

Oh, I'm well aware that you live in one of the most beautiful places in the U.S. if not the world. I spent '06 on the East Coast Trail Team traveling through your area over and over. I miss it so much and if I didn't have kids on this coast, I'd be GONE from California. Nothing compares to the Carolinas. Nothing.
You're so danged lucky. :)

I have to agree with you MG, I moved here a little over 3 years ago from the FL Keys. I still do business in the Keys so I get back 5-6 times a year. I consider myself to be a lucky man indeed.

People always associate the South with Deliverance. The opposite is true, however. My opinion was turned around the first time I went to downtown Greenville, SC. Wow, what a nice place.

Next year we'll meet at GSMTR, ok? :)

Sounds good to me, I hope to be there more than just one day next year, just could not work mine and Heather's work schedules around it this year.

We are going to hold you to that. :)
Just remind me once in a while. I can't wait to get back there. Were all the usual suspects there?

We did not get too many good photos, we need a new camera for sure. Check out the flex on Terry's rig, nice!
