Last year we had quite a few hams help out at the Summit, and we talked about elevating that a bit this year. I contacted several manufacturers, and so far Kenwood has expressed interest in helping. Of course they want to know how many operators will be at the event, so now is the time to speak up :)

Add your name & call to this list so I can share numbers (I won't share your personal info) with Kenwood. Maybe we can get them to hook us up with some APRS demo gear ;)

I don't have a rig yet. Plan on having one by Ouray.

If Kenwood sponsors, I would be inclined to purchase their rig. I was looking at the Kenwood vs Yaeseau (sp?) dual band mobile rigs. It was a virtual tie for me. This could sway my opinion.

If I can find 2 more general class people we could give the test AT the summit. Maybe I'll look up VEs in the area :)

Thanks WD9ICU

I checked out ARRL and found that they are testing in Monument today.

Went down and took the Tech exam and actually passed it.
Not the same result with the General exam (missed 23/35) but I have not studied for that one at all.

Shane, you can add me to the list KD0RIP

Google "the ham whisperer". That guy's videos did the trick for me! :bigthumb:

Thanks Jessica
I checked out the Ham Whisperer.

I have been taking the practice exams on QRZ.com and the questions on the Ham Whisperer were the same so it gave me some confidence in what I have been studying.

I have my tech license but don't remember my call sign as I have not yet purchased a radio, but if Kenwood is there and selling it will be theirs.

Don't rule out Alinco. They make some good radios!
I've had 2 Alinco DR-610's for years and I really like them.
