Callsign: KE0HXD (Tech for now)
Radio: Currently - Yaesu VX8-DR with a mag-mount. Soon to be Kenwood TM-D710A, mounting the antenna to the Expedition One Swing-out upper.
Freq usually on: 2m/70cm
Location: Usually around Denver. Sometimes AZ, KS, NE, NM, SD, UT, WY.

The install will take place with a slew of other stuff - ugh.
Troubleshoot code P0456 "very small" evap system leak.
Install a pair of Baja Designs XL80's on the A-pillars.
Redo the rats-nest of wiring under the hood for the light bar, fog lights, and XL80's.
Remove rocker panel switches and install a Switch Pros 9100.
Rework brackets for a pair of Corbeau Trailcat seats - move seat heater switches to rocker panel.
Install FJVistore headliner shelf.
Install the Kenwood.
Drink a beer.

I've been buying parts & making lists since December, saying when it gets warmer I'll get to it.
Well guess what? It's warmer.
It'll be a multi weekend install. I'm crappy at taking pics of the process, but I've taken enough from the forum. It's time to give something back.

Bob, W1ICW, Milton VT. Finally installing a radio tomorrow in our 09 FJ. Motorola MCS2000 100 watt VHF with a drilled NMO mount 1/4 wave antenna. I prefer the 1/4 wave antennas as they are more tree-proof and cheaper to replace than a 5/8 wave with loading coil. Radio is primarily for 2 meters but a lot of public service frequencies programmed into it as well.
