Yesterday, May 27th is the 2-year anniversary of the day the Blue Ox came home with me from the dealer. Since I did this last year- I figured I'd post the statistics from this years driving.

The 2 year stats on my FJ are as follows-

Miles driven: 34,270 total (should break 34,300 today) 17,274 of those miles in this year

Number of fill-ups:
61 (exactly the same as last year!)

(988.75 gallons of gas... yearly fuel cost for Year 2: 2007/2008 = $2,831.37) This is 17.22 less gallons used than last year, yet fuel costs increased $563.77 over Year 1: 2007/2008 operating costs.

Average M.P.G. has improved to: 17.52 mpg (highest ever 18.96 mpg, lowest ever 16.01 mpg)

Had two more rock strikes this year- but luckily no new windshield chips. Quite a few paint chips on Voodoo Blue A-pillar, though.

April '06 build date on the rear diff, but no problems yet. I called the dealer to see about the costs of extending the 36,000 mile warranty, and just for grins I asked what the cost of a new ring gear would be (since this is the only thing I'd really want a warranty in place to cover).

Extended warranty: $1,400.00. Pre-emptive replacement of gear if I were so inclined? $1,700.00.

A fill up that cost $33.83 last year costs $64.43 this year. That's depressing!

I was really very surprised to see my average MPG improve over last year- as the drive to work has changed from a 70 mile an hour fun drive to a 40 minutes of I'm-going-nowhere stop and start traffic drive...
