Hi all

Just bought the FJ Cruiser because it looks great.

Silly question, but I've noticed that the headlights come on when I switch on the engine and stay on all the time.

is this normal ?

That's your daytime running lights kicking in.

Congrats on the new ride and welcome to the forums!
The Daytime Running Lights are automatic. They come on when you start ur engine.
You can wire in a switch so you can bypass this circuit and turn them off when you want, many people have.

Depending on where you are from they may be required by law look it up

Easy mod to do. I did mine in about 1 hour. Just make sure you have the right wires! I double and triple checked before I commenced to cutting. You can buy the switch and all the other stuff you need from a Radio Shack. I use it every day as I have to go on a military base. Some soldering may be required depending on the switch you buy. You can also completely disconnect them, very easy to do. took less than 5 minutes for me. the resistor for the DRL is behind the drivers side head light. It is gray plastic once unplugged the DRL's will not come on at all
