Hi all,

I havent posted in a while but I just got back from Northern California and couldnt believe how many FJ's were on the road. I am in NYC primarily the 5 boroughs and lower westchester and a current 2007 FJ Cruiser owner. However, I came across the 2008 FJ Cruiser Special Edition, all white when I was away and cannot get over it. I have seen it back in early O7, i believe at the SEMA show and was told it was not going to be available but it is at least for one gentleman that I stopped to ask "how did you get this?" in CA.

Well as I returned home, I have been in on a journey to try to trade my existing FJ for the Special Edition one. I financed my current FJ and need to figure out how I can go about to get the Special Edition. If at all, it is available on the East Coast.

If anyone can assist or give me some advice on this, please do so. It will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again,

Joey

Personally i think it would be cheaper to repaint it, the mods you can put on it would be superior anyway for cheaper. I love the TT's but same as the TRD's, most folks built theres up and have all the overpriced upgrades laying in the garage. If you reeeealy want one you could always check all the dealers online and have one shipped.

Gah, I hear ya... hubby is going there with his. At this point, we could have saved the money and bought a stock 4x4 black diamond and painted the roof.

Ah well. We love the thing anyhoo.

Most FJs around here are stock.
I'm only changing the springs and tires.

I visited three toyota dealers this past weekend and saw 6 of the TT editions sitting on the lots. Apparently gas prices have taken a hit out of SUV sales. They were also discounting every Sequoia on the lot by 7k, before negotiations even began.

I agree with FunJunky,
Unless you plan on keeping it stock, you are pretty much paying for the paint. There is one on the lot in Toledo... not as far as AZ or CA. Your local dealer should be able to find one for you unless they are alomst sold out. They only make 3200. You could also try to buy one in canada (if possible). They offer the white FJ as a standard color option. Won't have the badges and blackout though.

Not sure what you mean about it being risky to have yours repainted. For TT markup, you can get a nice paintjob. Just make sure you do your research and find a good shop to do the work. Good luck!

I still owe money for my FJ and want to be smart about this trade in, so if there are any Toyota sales managers on here that can give me some advice or tips, please do so.

To paint it from black to iceberg white and black out all the bumpers etc..seems a little risky because of possible chipping down the road. To be quite honest, i dont even know of any good paint shops(i am sure there are tons) & wonder how much it would cost.

So far, today my first day of real searching I ran into a salewoman that had no idea what model i was talking about and giving me the "it may not be available in this region" approach.
